Kenya a nation of ignorance;
It is quite interesting to be a Kenyan and it should be quite fascinating for any foreigner to understand how Kenyans operate. It is only in Kenya where all will be wrong until a tribal chieftain says "Nooo it is now right" Remember in 2007/2008 how we fought, how Kenyans butchered each other, how we grabbed the attention of the world by torching Kiambaa Church which was a safe haven for women and children. It only took a handshake between President Kibaki and the opposition Doyen Raila Odinga on the steps of Harambee House. In 2017 we did it again, but when the interests of Raila were met by his "Brother" President Uhuru all was and it is well.
In the midst of the COVID-19 scourge, it has taken the "boldness" of politicians to call us from home, to drop down the guard, and allowed ourselves to attend rallies without masks, without proper social distancing and with all disregard to the MOH laid protocols. Who bewitched us, we foolish Kenyans. Today we are been subjected to an unnecessary, inexpensive, mediocre but dramatic BBI circus. In as much as the 2010 constitution deserves some changes and panel beating here and there, this is the wrong timing. And again when we talk of inclusivity in the government are we sure that by having the tribal chiefs at the helm we will have sorted our problems. By having RAO at the helm will the LUO fisherman at Kendubay, benefit? The Farmer at Kamuwongo in Mwingi will he be sorted just because Kalonzo is part of the executive?
All what Kenyans want is a working economy, value for their money and zero tolerance to corruption. The Kenya's laity should wake up and demand their chunk of the pound, Lets get out of our slumber!
Ndungata Ya Masii.
